Information

We acquired this ground in 1991 and transformed it into our flagship site thanks to funding from the Peter May Memorial Appeal and the Sports Lottery. In addition to its range of sports pitches the ground provides an indoor cricket hall, health and fitness studios and changing rooms managed by Better. The state of the art 3G surface has pitch markings for 11v11, 9v9 and 7v7 football.

Today the ground provides football and cricket pitches to clubs, schools and universities. It also provides a London base for the Essex County Cricket Board to identify and develop talented young cricketers. Over half of the double winning Essex team of 2019 have come through Peter May Sports Centre.

We host Walthamstow Parkrun at the ground every Saturday morning and a mini-soccer hub on the 3G pitch every Sunday morning.

For bookings of the Sports Hall for indoor cricket, badminton and other activities contact Better on 020 8531 9358.
