Alex Welsh celebrates 25 years with the LPFF

Anonymous 30 May 2014

We would like to congratulate our Chief Executive Alex Welsh on 25 years with the London Playing Fields Foundation.

Alex joined the LPFF in 1989 to manage the newly built Douglas Eyre Sports Centre and transform it into a site of regional significance for football development. Early on in his career he recognised that playing fields were more than just an expanse of open space, they were a way to improve the quality of life through participation in sport.

Under Alex's guidance and underpinned by sports development principles the Foundation has gone from strength to strength and it is fitting that his 25th year sees the refurbishment of the Douglas Eyre pavilion, the ground where his career started.
