Curry in the City with Saracens

Anonymous 04 June 2015

Seventy guests enjoyed an intimate evening with some star Saracens players on Wednesday 6th May at our Curry in the City event at Cafe Spice Namaste.

The evening started with a drinks reception during which the guests and players mingled before being seated for dinner. Alex Welsh gave the welcome speech followed by a short DVD on the work of the Foundation.

Saracens and England legend Hugh Vyvyan was the MC and he entertained the audience throughout with his warm and charming style. He also spoke passionately about the ethos of Saracens and the work they do in the community before leading a highly informative Q&A session with Duncan Taylor, Nils Mordt and Aaron Morris.

The players chatted engagingly about their careers, season highlights and behind the scenes at Saracens before answering questions from the audience on a range of subjects including the Rugby World Cup, overseas players and how to get the best from your team.

The evening ended with a raffle expertly drawn by the Saracens players before guests departed for home. The event helped increase our profile with a new audience and raised £1400 on the night.
