Our Projects

All Nations Football

The All Nations Football Programme, our first sports based social inclusion project, has won national acclaim for its innovative approach in using sport as a means of engaging with and supporting socially and economically disadvantaged groups.

Since its inception in 2001 over one hundred teams, some of which comprised individuals fleeing from countries ravaged by civil war, have been welcomed into the football family and introduced to people from other backgrounds and cultures.  In a relatively short time they have been transformed from groups of “jumpers for goalpost” footballers into affiliated clubs competing within mainstream football structures.  Underpinned by the message Friendship Through Football, the project has provided a much needed focus for young people susceptible to anti-social and criminal influences and encouraged them to join teams rather than gangs.
