LPFF finds home for Harry Kane statue
On 18th November, the day after he scored his 69th England goal versus Ireland at Wembley, Harry Kane unveiled a specially commissioned statue at Peter May Sports Centre.
Redbridge Council revoke decision on Oakfield Playing Field
We were delighted that Redbridge Council announced on 23rd January that they would not be pursuing the decision made at Cabinet on 19th October 2023 regarding entering into negotiations with West Ham United for a lease at Oakfield Playing Fields and will recommence the process afresh.
The Miller Stone Room
On a warm summer evening in May guests attended the formal unveiling of the Miller Stone Room at Douglas Eyre Sports Centre. The Foundation has named the pavilion’s classroom in memory of two former Trustees Jack Miller and Evan Stone QC who served the charity with such distinction over the past two decades.
John Hollins OBE (19 July 1946 – 14 June 2023)
Everyone connected with London Playing Fields Foundation was devastated at the passing of one of our dearest Vice Presidents John Hollins on Wednesday 14th June.
In memory of The Rt Hon The Earl Cadogan KBE DL (1937 – 2023)
All those connected to London Playing Fields Foundation were desperately sad to hear of the passing of former Chairman Lord Cadogan on 11th June 2023 following a cardiac arrest aged 86. His contribution to the charity during his eighteen-year tenure as Chairman is incalculable.
